The BSS Group PLC ('BSS', 'the Group'), leading distributors of heating, plumbing and pipeline equipment to the industrial and domestic construction and maintenance markets, announces today details of the following management changes.
With effect from 13th June 2005 Gavin Slark, currently Managing Director of PTS, is appointed Group Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, Gavin will be responsible for the Group's trading operations and the Managing Directors of the Trading Divisions will report directly to him.
Gavin will continue to report to the Group Chief Executive, Peter Wood, as will Kevin Higginson, Group Finance Director.
Changes are also being made to the heads of the Operating Divisions. Keith Lowe, Managing Director of BSS Industrial, and Brian Gray, Managing Director of F&P Wholesale, will both retire at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting on 21st July 2005. Frank Elkins, currently Commercial Director of BSS Industrial, will be appointed as Managing Director of that Division. Kelvin Stevens, currently Commercial Director of F&P Wholesale, will be appointed Managing Director of that business.
The Group is currently in the process of recruiting a successor to Gavin Slark as Managing Director of PTS. When made, this appointment will also report to Gavin Slark as Group Chief Operating Officer.
These moves will ensure management succession and continuity is in place. The Group has also published a trading update on the full year to the end of March 2005 in conjunction with this announcement.
